AFFIRM provides safety, support, acceptance, advocacy and encouragement for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender and questioning youth in Upstate South Carolina. Through education, group support and volunteer opportunities, we provide affirmation, validation and encouragement for the Upstate's lgbtq youth.
AFFIRM was founded to support the area's lgbtq youth through the difficulties of growing up "different" and to help fight intolerance and homophobia.
AFFIRM's programs and activities include

* HIV/AIDS and STD prevention education
* Drug and Alcohol abuse prevention
* Youth leadership development
* Resource information and referral services
* Volunteer Opportunties
* Education and discussion on coming out, health family and dating relationships, embracing diversity, spirituality, and other relevant topics
* Collaboration and networking with local, state and national lgbtq organizations
