Hudson Pride Connections (HPC), a 501c3 non profit organization founded in 1993 and exists to bridge the gap in services and respond to the unmet needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, & transgender community, as well as HIV positive people of any orientation / identity, through supportive social services, prevention, outreach, advocacy and development trainings for other service providers, to educate, empower, and unite all of our communities.
After 14 years of serving the community, in the summer of 2007, HPC acquired a 3 story historic home from the late 19th century in one of the most diverse cities in the world. HPC operates and manages the Pride Connections Center of NJ and is proud to share the space with its center partners including: Jersey City Lesbian and Gay Outreach (JCLGO), the northern NJ Chapter of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Education Network (GLSEN), Hudson Diversity Action Council (HDAC) and the 32 Jones Art Gallery.
The Center is happy to offer a number of different services, programs and events to the community at large. HPC offers transgender programming, youth groups, legal advocacy, health education, outreach services, financial assistance and social service linkages; JCLGO hosts Jersey City’s annual LGBT Pride Festival, support causes, issues groups or individuals that will benefit the LGBT cause; GLSEN works to ensure safe schools for ALL students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity; Hudson Diversity Action Council advances the issues of underserved populations through political action, voter mobilization, and community education; and the 32 Jones Gallery features local, national, and international Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and straight ally artists and serves as a venue to provide support for underrepresented and emerging artists
