WHOSOEVER: Mountain Moving Faith

The kind of faith that moves mountains isn't the sitting-back-on-your-laurels-waiting-for-something-to-happen kind of faith. It isn't the weeping-crying-begging-God-to-do-something kind of faith. The kind of faith that moves mountains is a SPEAKING kind of faith.

Mark 11:22-26 MV reads like this: "And Jesus answered them saying, Have faith in God; for whoever says to this mountain, "be removed and be cast into the sea," and does not doubt in their heart, but believes that those things they say will come to pass, they shall have whatever they say. And whatever things you desire when you pray, believe that you have received them and you shall have them. And when you stand praying, forgive anyone that you may have anything against; for if you do not forgive, then your Father God in Heaven will not be able to forgive your tresspasses."

How can it be any clearer?
1. HAVE FAITH in God! When you speak faith God will back you up with His power.
2. SPEAK to the mountain or problem/situation/circumtance and tell it to GO! We were created in the image of God with the ability to reason and speak. Use it. WHO CARES what other people think!
3. BELIEVE that your faith will work and the mountain will move.
4. FORGIVE or else it blocks everything else from working.

If we really took this Scripture seriously and practiced what it teaches, there would be a lot of mountains running around!!

  1. This is indeed a powerful scripture. Unfortunately, it can be and has been used by ex-Gay advocates as proof that God can "cleanse" a person of homosexuality. People need to understand that being Gay is not an addiction or an evil influence. It is both an organic state and a spiritual state conferred by God. It is a blessing from God when He makes human beings mirror the androgyny of beings in Heaven. I believe that the Lord put LGBT people on Earth for a Divine purpose, and I suspect fearsome things would occur in the world were we to suddenly vanish, as the ultra-conservatives desire.

I know that God does not grant everything we pray for. A good parent will not grant a child his every wish! God looks into our hearts to discern our motivations. He gives us what He knows is good for us, like any loving parent would. I don't doubt that women have had occasion to pray they could become men. I don't doubt that Black people have had occasion to pray they could become white. And there can surely be no doubt that homosexual folk still pray to be made heterosexual. But these kinds of prayers are offered under duress, and God understands that. In His wisdom, He sets aside such requests and responds to His confused children in more constructive ways.
