There's been a lot of talk in recent months about maintaining the "traditional family" and protecting "traditional marriage." I did some bible study on the concept and found that Jesus had some very different ideas about tradition.

The apostle Paul was guilty of holding onto to harmful traditions, especially regarding women and Gay men. For that reason, I approach his writings with a great deal of suspicion. But what Jesus Christ said about confusing man's laws with God's laws are right on the money. That is what Religious Right Wingers do whenever they attribute condemnations of homsexuality to God. The Lord placed homosexual men and women here on Earth; why would He condemn His own good work?
