The Bloomington Beacon Center is a project of Bloomington Beacon, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation. The corporation's mission statement says, "Bloomington Beacon provides human services and educational, economic and cultural opportunities for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (GLBTQ) communities in south-central Indiana. Bloomington Beacon also supports the civil and human rights of GLBTQ people in south-central Indiana by providing accurate news, information and commentary.”
The Bloomington Beacon Center will provide a safe, welcoming and positive space for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (GLBTQ) people, their families and allies.
The center will strive to: build networks of support; deliver services; and provide educational, recreational, economic, cultural and volunteer opportunities, regardless of race, class, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or religion.
