As I am on the starting path of helping to reconcile the two 'communities' I belong to (Christian and gay), this was exactly what I needed to read. Excellent timing, and thank you very much! :)
ReplyDeleteAs a PFLAG member and a rather fallen by the way Christian, I find your posts uplifting and positive.
ReplyDeleteI am only one person but your writing means much to me and I am sure there are others out there like me, that you reach with your message of love and understanding.
Thank you and God bless.
Establishing commonality is one of the oldest and most effective sales pitches in the book. It's used in many aspects of our society: how political ideals are pitched, how products are sold, how we make friends, how we make peace, and yes, how we minister to others. It is a fundamental concept that is frequently overlooked or taken for granted, but it is very effective.
